No Time for Tweaking

The Census Bureau is already planning for the 2030 Census, but key challenges from 2020 remain unresolved—particularly the undercount of vulnerable groups like young children, as well as Black and Hispanic populations. While some suggest only minor tweaks are needed, others believe bold changes are essential to ensure a more accurate count. In this blog, Dr. William O’Hare questions whether simply tweaking census language is enough to achieve a more accurate count.
